Will Big Data Make Us More Honest?

Fans of the TV show Backstrom know that the title character is a detective with health problems, and in a recent episode the police force’s doctor requires him to wear a FitBit-type health monitor to ensure he’s getting his prescribed 10,000 steps per day — or he’s off the job.

The character finds creative ways around this (like giving his tracker to a homeless man for the day), but the concept stands: he has a much harder time lying to his doctor about his health habits.
