Overcoming the gender gap in data science

The rise of automation, AI, big data and augmented reality will power Industry 4.0 and jobs of the future. While this has driven demands for roles in the IT industry, the gender disparity still remains – Females are still under represented in the areas of science and technology, especially in the field of data science.

According to MasterCard’s Girls In Tech study, 30% of 17-19 year olds said that they will not choose STEM jobs despite studying STEM subjects, citing reasons including perceiving STEM careers as gender biased and being a male-dominated industry.
