Why Big Data Alone Won’t Drive Better Customer Experiences

It is time to ask some hard questions about our industry’s relationship with big data. The craze has been with us for nearly 10 years, during which we have spent a lot of time defining big data technically.

One popular characterization came from Gartner’s three Vs: volume, variety and velocity. But now we have to ask: Is there a missing V in the equation? Are you seeing the value from big data implementations? Most are not, which leads us to wonder why these projects are stumbling.
