The business intelligence market is projected to become a $20 billion industry by 2019, with 85% of business leaders believing big data will dramatically change how they operate their company. In addition, an estimated 90% of large-scale companies are expected to hire a Chief Data Officer, with 42% of companies planning to implement mobile business intelligence tools.
Traditional business intelligence tools were rooted in understanding clicks and page loads, while also requiring a robust data storage hub and separate visualization tools. Although measuring these specific metrics is important, this dated approach commonly made the process more complex and expensive – without delivering a comprehensive assessment of how consumers actually interact with the business.
