Today, one of the sexiest job titles is “Data Scientist.” Have you ever wondered why there is a sudden increase in the demand for this position over the past few years? A very simple answer would be that over the last decade there’s been a gigantic explosion in the data generated (Big Data) and retained by companies, and by us.

And data scientists are the people who make sense out of all this data and figure out just what can be done with it. Setting Internship Goals I am glad that I got an opportunity to intern as a Data Scientist at AT&T with a team working on projects related to big data. For any individual who wants to gain experience in a field, an internship opportunity is the best way to learn from pros and gain practical understanding.
